Personal Support Worker / Care Aide

Provide Compassionate, Hands-On Support to Those Who Need It Most

Required Qualifications

  • PSW certificate, HCA/RCA certification, or equivalent caregiving training
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor

Preferred

  • Valid British Columbia driver's license
  • Experience in home care, residential care, or healthcare settings
  • Experience supporting seniors or individuals with disabilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)

Preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (home care preferred)
  • Wound care certification or IIWCC (International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course)
  • Experience with complex wounds (diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds)
  • Knowledge of advanced wound care products and compression therapy
  • Case management or care coordination experience
  • Additional language skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans
  • Administer medications via various routes (oral, subcutaneous, IM)

Responsibilities

  • Provide complex nursing assessments and develop comprehensive care plans
  • Perform advanced nursing procedures (IV therapy, PICC line care, complex wound management)
  • Administer and manage medications including high-alert medications
  • Provide palliative and end-of-life care support
  • Supervise and provide clinical oversight to LPNs and care aides
  • Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle last-minute changes

  • Experience in home care, healthcare, or staffing industry
  • Knowledge of British Columbia healthcare regulations and standards
